ATMIA's Africa ATMs 2008, entitled "Risk Reduction and Business Optimisation" brings the ATM and payments industry of South Africa and beyond together in the beautiful city of Cape Town for three days of workshops, keynote address, presentations, bank case studies and breakout sessions.
ATMIA is privileged to bring the head of the World Bank's Payment System Development Group in Washington, Massimo Cirasino, to South Africa to look at payments developments in emerging markets around the world. We are pleased and proud to welcome to the speaker line-up Dave C Mitchell, Head of National Payment System Department of the South African Reserve Bank to address the conference on "Payments Behaviour - Key Trends and Observations".
FinMark Trust will present highlights of the FinScopeT SA 2007 research study: Key Financial Habits and Consumer Behaviours. Capitec will look at Changing ATM Customer Profiles and Expectations from a major bank's perspective. First National Bank will draw case study lessons from expanding the reach of ATMs, looking at the story of the FNB ATM installed on the top of Table Mountain. Leading pioneer South African ISO, Steve Kark, Managing Director of ATM Solutions, will cover the A-Z of the ISO ATM business.
The African ATM Technology Enablement Forum will launch best practices for governance of payment systems with special attention to challenges of emerging payments markets in Africa. Payment network governance is the key issue to get right in expanding ATM networks and payments systems.
ATMIA, in association with the South African Fraud Prevention Service, SABRIC and the Global ATM Security Alliance, will address the key risk areas of preventing identity theft and application fraud and ATM crimes and scams through best practice as well as security solutions and strategies which work. Hannes Venter, National Director of G4S in South Africa will share critical success factors for an end-to-end ATM solution.
Mike Lee, CEO of ATMIA, will present a professional futures studies research-based forecast for the future of cash while well-known industry veteran, Jim Baird, will condense 20 years of experience into pearls of wisdom as to the current state of Africa's growing love affair with self-service technology.
This is an annual industry conference run by a global non-profit trade association which promises a powerful programme and great networking to go with it.
