Standardizing WIC EBT Business Processes
One of the keys to nationwide WIC EBT is the ability to standardize business processes, especially at the point of sale. The eGovernment Payments Council’s new “Guidelines for the Standardization of WIC EBT Business Processes” takes the WIC EBT community a long way in this direction. Processors, retailers, local agencies and consumers will all be pleased with the simplicity that the Guidelines will bring to retail WIC EBT. Join Council members as they unveil the Guidelines for retail delivery of WIC benefits at the point of sale. A “must see” if WIC EBT is on your radar screen in 2010.

Assessing the Compatibility of Your Legacy Data Systems for WIC EBT
As a benefit delivery utility, WIC EBT relies on the WIC IS to provide information regarding the WIC family unit (eligible participants in a family) and their related WIC food prescriptions.  Mechanism.  While the newer WIC Information Systems are being developed to be “EBT-ready,” the same is not true for the existing legacy WIC Information Systems.  So should a WIC Agency wait until they install a new WIC IS, or can they bring up WIC EBT using their legacy WIC IS?  Hear industry experts discuss the pros and cons of both approaches.
