BBVA deployed its first innovative “ABIL” ATMs in 2009, with the aim of creating a holistic customer experience, centring on the needs of the user, rather than on already existing technology and available transactions.

Competing financial instruments and ATM integrated payments
New integrated payment channels are emerging as financial instruments compete for market share and more payment options become available. Whether consumer use cards, cheques, cash, credits or mobile wallets, the payments landscape of the future will be very different to the one we see today. The new payments ecosystem will require the integration of competing financial instruments through cross-channel enablers. Failing to Succeed - A tool to changing the attitudes of thieves
Why has ATM ramming dropped by 98% and staying there?
In 2006/7 Australia was the ram raid capital of the World with more than eight separate gangs operating and around six ATMs disappearing a week. Banks ‘high profile’ brands were being splashed over the front pages in a never ending daily news media cycle. Never before had stakeholders come together and worked as a team to drive out the ram raid menace.
Why was this so successful? And what does the future hold?
